W.I.C. – from the Atlanta home team – had great success with their self titled release in February and decided to do a remix ep
Captain Mudfish an ATL underground hip hop veteran and main producer for W.I.C. employed the skills from Atlanta Dubstep DJ/producer Whisperlink on this remix ep. As good friends and collaborators of music for over a decade-this was a no-brainer.

The first track-Scar Spangled Heart features local Atlanta rappers The Wheeler Boys and vocalist Joe McGuinness. This remix uses all only the tracks from original song and especially the smooth sung vocals of Joe McGuinness. This eerie and triumphant  battlefield anthem echos as if sung by the drummer boy off to war. Unfortunately for its composure of this remix – the Wheeler Boy’s verses weren’t used-but there are already talks of remixes from Whisperlink of some of their new album in the works – so stay tuned!

The second track-Stainless features DT from Clan Destined along with Trip and Cory from W.I.C.– Other than the sub the song is also made up entirely of the original material with Whisperlink’s loudly defined tweakage. It has a four on the floor approach to dubstep with a buzzy slow rolling rider of a bass line.
So here it is……… as ATL as is gets……….

Respect from DJ Nappy on this mix he put together honoring the late Matthew “Gimpmode” Fox, referencing the Atlanta DJ’s penchant for mixing trap sounds with powerful dubstep.

Always respect for Gimpmode from the Atlanta Dubstep team – a lot of the early meetings and dubstep parties in our city were hosted by Gimpmode and his Wobble House crew.
